It's truly the end of an era -- Judith has been synonymous with WIN for me since I joined the company 3 years ago. This is a huge loss to us and to AOL, but I'm happy for the company that managed to snag her, and excited for her in her pursuit of new opportunities. She'll be sorely missed... hey Judith, can we snag you back to at least blog for us on the side? ;)

Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments

Love in Azeroth

Ah yes, it's getting to be that time of year again -- the time of year when we bequeath extra special nuggets of love upon our sweethearts or ratchet up our level of curmudgeonly complaining about love and how it sucks, depending on your current situation. In World of Warcraft it's no different, as WoW Insider's Mike Schramm humorously documents for us in Sex in the Undercity: A guide to finding love in Azeroth, complete with gallery.

Read | Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments

Oblivion pickup lines

Filed under: gaming, social media, remix culture, participatory culture
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was one of the hottest single-player RPGs of 2006. A fan cut up footage from the game to make this, shall we say, suggestive, video of Ye Olde Pickup Lines of Oblivion. It will be more salient to fans of the game, but non-gamers will find a glimpse into some of what videogaming has to offer today as well as some highly entertaining voice acting. Just in time for V-day...

Because there were a few seconds of the day in which I found myself not blogging, growing blogs, reading blogs, studying blogs, or thinking about blogs, I saw an opening to start a blog here at WIN. I'm looking forward to filling this space with interesting things going on around the network, thoughts on meta-blogging, and various observations on the state of social software and technology -- stay tuned!

Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
